The Power of Discipline: A Journey Beyond Times Square

“Discipline is not about perfection, it’s about consistency.”

When my book lit up Times Square at the start of the year, it was more than just a milestone—it was a wake-up call. A reminder that success isn’t just about dreaming big; it’s about having the discipline to follow through, even when the road gets tough. And let’s be honest—this year has already come with its fair share of challenges.

From economic uncertainty to the emotional toll of global and national events, we’re all carrying more than we let on. Add to that the daily juggle of responsibilities—motherhood, daughterhood, marriage, friendships, career, and personal goals—and it’s easy to feel stretched thin. I know I have.

Balancing my full-time career with my passion for consulting, writing, and inspiring others has tested my ability to stay focused. I know where I want to go, but transitioning into this next chapter of my life requires patience, strategy, and unwavering discipline. Some days, I feel unstoppable. Other days, I feel like I’m barely keeping up. But here’s what I’ve learned—discipline isn’t about pushing ourselves to the brink. It’s about making intentional choices, one step at a time, while giving ourselves grace in the process.

Self-care and mental health are not luxuries; they are necessities. If we’re constantly pouring into everyone else—our jobs, our families, our communities—but never into ourselves, we risk burnout before we ever reach our goals. And I refuse to let that happen. That’s why I’m learning to embrace discipline not just in my work, but in my rest. In my ability to say no. In prioritizing the things that nourish me—reading, writing, quiet moments of reflection.

I invite you to take this journey of self-discovery with me. Where in your life can discipline and grace work together? How can you commit to yourself, not just your obligations, but to the person you are becoming?

Let’s keep showing up. Let’s keep building. Because success isn’t just about one big moment—it’s about the lifestyle we create every single day.

As always, I hope this message has encouraged you. To live your life to the best of your ability. To shine brighter each day and be your best self.  Yours truly. – Lin Green
