Issalivestyle Turns 5: What Five Years of Faith, Healing, and Quiet Growth Taught Me

Five years ago, I started a blog. At least that’s what I thought I was doing.

In reality, God was gently (and persistently) tapping me on the shoulder saying, “You’ve been holding onto that gift long enough.” And just like that, Issalivestyle was born.

Why I Started Issalivestyle During COVID

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, it did more than disrupt routines. It exposed something deeper. The many people who were silently struggling with anxiety, isolation, grief, and mental health challenges. The world slowed down. But the emotional weight didn’t. I saw it everywhere.

People were hurting.
Families were stretched.
Faith felt tested.

And I realized something that changed everything: My writing was never meant to stay private. For years, I had carried the gift of words quietly. Writing had always been my outlet. It was my processing tool, my therapy, my safe space. But during that season of collective uncertainty, I knew it was time to stop hiding the gift and start sharing it.

Issalivestyle wasn’t just a blog idea. It was obedience.

I Thought I Was Starting a Blog — God Was Building a Sanctuary

I didn’t know what Issalivestyle would become. That it would turn into a faith-based personal growth platform focused on healing, mindset transformation, emotional wellness, and intentional living. Oh wait, yes I did. Because that was the vision He gave me. What I didn’t know was, it would stretch me. Refine me. Humble me. Challenge my discipline. Strengthen my consistency.

I definitely didn’t know it would still be here five years later… and growing. Growth is funny like that. It rarely looks dramatic while it’s happening. It doesn’t announce itself. It doesn’t trend. It doesn’t always get applause. Growth looks quiet.

It looks like writing when engagement is low.
It looks like showing up when you’re tired.
It looks like trusting that impact doesn’t always equal visibility.
It looks like planting seeds without obsessing over the harvest.

And then one day, you look back. And you realize what you built in faith.

What Five Years of Personal Growth and Healing Really Looks Like

When I reflect on five years of Issalivestyle, I don’t just see blog posts.

I see:

  • Obedience
  • Consistency
  • Tears behind the scenes
  • Courage to tell the truth
  • Community forming through shared vulnerability
  • Grace covering every imperfect step

Issalivestyle has become a space where we talk openly about:

  • Healing generational cycles
  • Mental health and emotional resilience
  • Faith in hard seasons
  • Redefining worth outside of performance
  • Women’s empowerment and intentional living
  • Building legacy through personal transformation

It has grown alongside me. From pandemic reflections to deeper conversations about identity, purpose, discipline, and faith-driven growth. And through it all, one message has remained consistent: Healing is not a trend. It’s a lifestyle. Or better yet, a LIVE style.

Faith is not passive. It’s practiced daily. Growth is not loud. It’s layered.

Growth Looks Quiet Until You Look Back

That quote wasn’t written for engagement. It was written from experience. Because when I look back over these five years, I don’t see overnight success. I see a woman who said yes when it would have been easier to stay silent. I see someone who kept writing when it wasn’t convenient.
Who kept believing when the results weren’t immediate. Who kept showing up when no one required her to.

Issalivestyle turning five isn’t about numbers. It’s about faithfulness. It’s about the courage to begin.
The strength to continue. And the discipline to stay aligned with the calling.

And if I’m being honest? Some days it still looks like writing in pajamas. Some days it looks like creating content in between responsibilities. Some days it looks like wrestling with doubt and choosing to publish anyway. But every day, it looks intentional.

A Thank You to This Community

If you’ve been reading Issalivestyle from the beginning, thank you.

If you discovered it last week, welcome.

If a single post ever encouraged you, challenged you, or reminded you that you are not alone in your healing journey, that is why this platform exists.

Five years later, I’m still choosing healing. Still choosing honesty. Still choosing to show up. And I believe the quiet growth ahead will be even more powerful than the growth behind.

If this space has impacted you in any way, I’d love for you to:

  • Leave a comment sharing what Issalivestyle has meant to you
  • Share this post with someone who needs encouragement
  • Subscribe so you don’t miss what’s ahead and encourage others to do the same

Let’s keep building spaces where healing isn’t hidden, faith is active, and growth is intentional. Because this isn’t just a blog. It’s a lifestyle. Still choosing healing. Still choosing honesty. Still choosing to show up.

As always, I hope this message has encouraged you. To live your life to the best of your ability. To shine brighter each day and be your best self.

With love and purpose,
Lin Green
